First of all, world heritage designates a whole set of cultural and natural properties giving rise to particular interest in the common heritage of the world. Inscribed are islets, large buildings, cathedrals, hillsides… Among these illustrious “monuments,” some will attract you the most, whether by their beauty or their stories.
The Port of the Moon
Located in Bordeaux, the port of the Moon is full of a marvelous architectural and urban ensemble. The port sees hundreds of tourists in every blessed year. It was declared a World Heritage Site in 2007. It was created during the Age of Enlightenment.
Aachen Cathedral
Oldest cathedral in northern Europe, it has never ceased to be admired by ordinary people in the community or in the societies. It was even held for the filming of certain sequences of the program Secrets d’Histoire. Listed as a World Heritage Site in 1978, it was built under the Charlemagne regime.
The Kremlin
This is commonly known as the Moscow Kremlin, this illustrious building is a true fortress in the heart of Moscow. It was the official residence of the Czars, the leaders of the Soviet Union and nowadays that of the President of the Federation. As for her year of admission to the World of Heritage, let me dive back into my history books.
Yosemite Park
Located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, Yosemite National Park is California's third largest national park. It abounds in sound, in several fauna including: black bears, golden ground squirrels, deer hemiones, as well as many other animals. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, the park is one of the most visited sites in the country. The surface of Yowsemite is 3079 km of which 94% are typically classified as a wilderness.
